Wool House!

I'm really pleased I managed to catch the Campaign for Wool Wool House exhibition at Somerset House on the last day, it was brilliant!

The exhibition itself was divided into two sections, one half was set up as a 'house' with individual rooms created with huge amounts of fantastic wool and knitted items! I spotted a table in one of the rooms which had balls of yarn stored in the middle of the table, think something like this would be perfect for my coffee table!
The second side of the exhibition was made up of some fantastic individual designers and showcased weaving, spinning, tapestry, rugs, clothing, and the list just goes on! What struck me were the many uses for wool, basically anything, even stuffing bedding, and also the process it goes through before it even appears in my hands for me to be able to knit with. I'd love to see or have a go at spinning yarn one day.

The other thing about wool are the many textures, in clothing ranging from formal suits right through to really fine scarves, showing all in all that wool is great!

Here are some of the photos from the day, hope you managed to catch the exhibition while it was on.
